More companies are using VR and AR than ever before. So, for some Monday Motivation, we wanted to share how a few companies are utilizing them in unique ways.
- Hilton Suites launched a social campaign for users to guess the size of the rooms – virtually walk through the rooms to count the number of items in each room.
- Pepsi brought AR to a bus shelter’s display window using depth mapping to project 3D assets into the live feed of the street ahead. They surprised commuters with asteroids, tigers, and more which brought Pepsi Max sales up 35%.
- Interactive Games, similar to Pokemon GO, are always a favorite. Entertainment is sure to increase interaction and revenue. The possibilities are endless as to the game options companies can use to encourage sales.
- Ford & Sherwin Williams have enhanced online shopping experiences. Ford uses 360 video-powered vehicle tours to allow almost every square inch of the vehicle to be seen, resulting in an 88% increase in engagement. The Sherwin Williams mobile app uses AR features to allow users to “try on” paint colors, even displaying them around TVs, shelves, and more for a highly realistic experience.
- Lowes has an AR-powered featured to help navigate through the store with indoor mapping and turn-by-turn directions. Macy’s uses an in-store VR experience where shoppers can decorate a virtual room and test out the setup via VR headsets.
