VR Video Game Brings Farming To Nursing Students

farming

It’s not every day you see farming in video games and health care. So, what do you get when you bring the two together? Rollover Ranch, a new video game, started as a research project at The University of Nebraska.

Two completely different worlds – video games and science have converged for a tractor-driving simulation virtual reality game. With fewer people experiencing farm labor and how farm equipment works, and the risks that go along with it, it puts future nurses at a disadvantage.

This research project aims to increase the knowledge of nursing students in injuries and in the hopes of preventing those injuries.

Teachers will present Rollover Ranch with further information in the classroom setting to students surveyed before and after the VR game and lessons.

Nobody wants to sit in a safety meeting and read about what not to do – and then try to remember all of it. It’ll be easier to remember while learning in a fun environment of playing mini and functional games while trying to avoid the tractor rolling over.

Industrial3D is honored to design VR training at other Universities – this way of learning can save lives and bring awareness to various situations.
